Branded gaming content is easily one of the most important innovations to grace the online casino industry. Comparatively, it is easily on par with mobile compatibility and live gaming. Psychologically, branded gaming content creates a connection with players because they feel familiar with it. That will ensure they are more likely to try out themed slots when they like the movie or TV show on which it is based.
As one of the most successful software developers serving the online casino industry, NetEnt has recognised the power of branded gaming content. In attempting to leverage that power, NetEnt has developed familiar video slots such as Aliens, Frankenstein, South Park, Scarface, Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man, and the Wish Master.
While attending ICE 2015 in February, NetEnt made presentations and participated in interviews where the developer revealed that branded slots would continue to be a priority throughout 2015. But after experimenting with movie slots and TV slots, NetEnt will next attempt to develop a music slot based on legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses.
Guns N’ Roses Inspire Slot Game
Towards the second half of the 1980s and first half of the 1990s, Guns N’ Roses perhaps the most important rock band on the face of the planet. And key to their legend has been the fall apart of the original and best line-up, leading fans to ask each other ‘What if they stayed together?’ Of course, music fans also recognise the classic Guns N’s Roses logo.
Ahead of ICE 2015, NetEnt had promised to showcase a forthcoming slot that nobody had experience before, and the developer certainly delivered. Band-themed slot games have not been trialled like this before, but it makes sense after Microgaming developed its Playboy slot a couple of years ago.
At this early stage, though, details are limited for the Guns N’ Roses slot. NetEnt did not reveal whether or not all members of the original line-up would feature, as Axl Rose is the only member in the current Guns N’ Roses. However, NetEnt did reveal that the slot would be emerging at NetEnt casinos in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Sink Your Teeth into Dracula Slot
Another game expanding NetEnt’s branded content is its Dracula slot, which is going to be rising in April 2015. This is good news for NetEnt fans craving branded slots, as a wait until the end of the year for Guns N’ Roses would have been a little too long.
Dracula could be another hit for NetEnt, as the developer has already demonstrated its horror pedigree by developing video slots based on the likes of Aliens, Frankenstein, the Wish Master, and Creature from the Black Lagoon. That prior experience will serve the developer well in doing Dracula justice.
When the Dracula slot is launched in April, we are expecting knockout 3D graphics and a standout bonus game. And having worked on Frankenstein, NetEnt will be in a position to ensure Dracula looks like the character shown in the movies.
